Where to hunt Livingstone Eland

Eland are the largest antelope in Africa with the Livingstone Eland being somewhat bigger than the Cape Eland. Livingstone Eland with its faint white stripes are classified as a subspecies of the Eland family, mostly hunted as a free range animal in Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique and now also introduced to many game ranches in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. Due to its mobility and moderate numbers where it occurs as a free range animal, it can make for a difficult hunt in the dry bushveld habitats if prefers.

Price distribution

Livingstone Eland are generally not sold as a special package hunt unless on a game ranch. If hunted on a fenced territory, their prices are not much different a Cape Eland. Trophy fees for a ranch hunt will vary slightly form $350 - $450 per say for daily rates and a trophy fee of $1,800 - $2,200. However, free range hunts being the more traditional Eland hunt, fetch a higher premium price with daily rates being around $ 600 per day for a 10 day hunt and a trophy fee of $2,700 - $3,200, excluding government licenses.
