More about us
Our company was established in 2016 and operates in 1 territory.
- Alberta Wild is about the first day of the hunt through to the last. To harvest a trophy is such a blessing. It’s the window of time you have to make all those decisions before you seal the deal. We are here to cover all the details and time it takes to put you in that once-in-a-lifetime moment. To relax and enjoy our hospitality and combined characters that will stand out to add a wonderful storyline around the moment of truth!
- Born and raised in Alberta and the son of a dedicated hunter and trap line operator, Derek has spent 23 years pursuing every opportunity to be in the back country hunting, trapping, fishing and exploring the untouched wilderness throughout Alberta. It was Derek’s passion for the outdoors that led him to use his hunting skills for more than recreation and went on to bring together Alberta Wild Outfitters.
About this hunt
We will be setup in a backcountry camp right in the middle of our hunting zone. You will be staying in outfitter tents with wood stoves and cots. All your bedding is provided so you aren’t required to haul all your own stuff up, but you can if you would like. Our camp is equipped with private accomodations, hot showers and a full kitchen area. All your meals are included in the hunt which are cooked fresh daily in our large kitchen. Our hunting camp is located south of Grande Cache Alberta. All our hunts take place in zones considered mountain zones, but we are in the foothills east of the Canadian Rockies. The zone is rugged with varying elevation changes, deep ravines, clear cut logging blocks and dense forested areas. This is a crown land, public access area which offers some spectacular hunting opportunities. The zone we hunt has a healthy elk population in addition to limited hunting pressure during the archery season with longer days to hunt will only increases your chance of success. 2 spots available for $8250USD/per Hunter. Price includes all licenses permits and tags. No Trophy Fees! Wolf Tag Included. 1/1 Hunter/Guide. 6 full days of hunting! Sept 1-6 2025

Where you will hunt
Territory
For the most part, our hunting terrain is located in the central Alberta foot hills that border the Canadian Rockies. We have a mixed boreal forest of pine, spruce, aspen, willow, alder and buckbrush. Generally speaking we leave camp with the 4×4 vehicles and drive to an active hunting area. Depending on the species being hunted we may utilize blinds and stands but usually we hunt on foot or by quad and river boat and spot and stock our prey. We will put on many miles by foot during the hunt to access some very remote areas. Wall Tents
We will be setup in a backcountry camp right in the middle of our hunting zone. Our camp consists of heated canvas tents as sleeping quarters. Each building can accommodate two single beds with all the furnishings. A light and wood burning stove, a sink and a bucket of water for washing. Yes, we do have a heated camp shower. Our camp and kitchen are catered by an amazing cook who supplies a hearty breakfast before our hunt, and a huge supper when we return at the end of our day. We hunt all day and do not wish to return to camp, so mid-day lunches are in the field. Our comfortable hunting camp is built for hunting purposes. It is not a lodge with fancy fixings.
