More about us
Our company was established in 2020 and operates in 1 territory.
- Established in 2020, Lone Ridge Outfitters was created to set a new standard on Guided Hunts! The LRO team are highly experienced DIY hunters and Guides, with more than 20 years combined guiding experience. Outfitter Steve is a US Army Veteran and although LRO will take anyone out hunting, our main goal is to help other Veterans, LEO and First Responders experience Western Hunting. We also want to help disabled hunters get a chance to hunt even if they feel like it's impossible for them. We work with many organizations across the U.S.A. that have the tools, equipment, training and experience to help anyone enjoy our great outdoors!
- When most people think of guided hunts, the expectations are that only trophy quality animals should be taken as clients spend their hard earned money on the Guided Hunt. Well, our opinion is that any animal is considered a TROPHY! Sure, we are gonna bust our tails trying to find and get our clients on 170''+ Bucks and 330''+ Bulls, but our motto is "Memories over Measurements!" What that means is that if you come and hunt with us, and we help guide you on your target species and that animal makes your heart race, your palms sweat and the hair on the back of your neck stand up, regardless of size, that animal will be a TROPHY!
- We are a no pressure Outfit! We won't tell you what you can and can't shoot. We won't tell you what you should or shouldn't shoot. Our job is to give you our opinion and help ensure you don't go home empty handed.
- We treat all our clients like family, as it should be. We keep in contact with you before your hunt, during and after your hunt. Our goal is to have you return year after year and enjoy your time with us! Our Guides are there for you every step of the way. We don't charge Trophy fees if you happen to kill a monster on the mountain as hunting is always an opportunistic sport.

About this hunt
Here at Lone Ridge Outfitters, one of our main goals is to connect with Military Veterans, Law Enforcement and First Responder hunters and help them come experience what Western Hunting is all about. We prioritize the adventure, our clients and the memories made! We want our clients to find confidence in our ability to help them notch their tag on that Trophy of a LIFETIME, without sacrificing the true meaning of the hunt! We are all about "Memories over Measurements", but no matter what you are after, our team of experienced guides will be there every step, every traverse and every memory! Book with us today and see why our clients come back year after year! Our elk unit is called the "Wasatch" unit, and the tag is called "Archery Hunters Choice Elk". Non Resident hunting licenses are $120.00, OTC Elk tags are $613 July 8th is when the OTC spike/cow archery tags go on sale, but clients can pick them up when they get here as they do not have a quota and are unlimited Our hunts consist of Wall Tent lodging, 3 day hunt, 1 on 1 guide/hunter ratio unless the client wants to hunt with a buddy, then it's a 2:1. Lodging, transportation during hunt, guide, field dressing, pack out are included. Veterans and Law enforcement receive $500 off their bookings as we are a Veteran ran outfit as well.

Where you will hunt
Territory
We hunt on the Wasatch unit just outside Heber City, Utah. Roughly 45 minutes south east of Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City INT is the airport for flying in. Hunters need to be in somewhat decent physical shape as the terrain is considered mild to moderate, with the elevation being the toughest thing for most hunters to adjust to. We hunt between 7500 - 10k feet in elevation. Once a client books, I email them a packing list and a "What to expect" document that goes over our day to day operations and hunting styles. In late August and early September, usually the weather is warmer but we almost always deal with rain and wind along with cooler temps in the early mornings and evenings.

We hunt public land but our base camp is located on private land so clients have the reassurance that their gear and valuables are safe behind a locked gate.
