We take pride in maintaining small hunting groups, allowing us to provide each hunter with personalized attention and a tailored experience, no matter their skill level. We cater to crossbow, bow, and rifle hunters, offering flexibility with hunting dates to suit your preferences. Our baiting begins as soon as we can access camp in May, with each site meticulously managed to provide a top-tier hunting experience. Hunts run from Monday to Friday, with Saturday and Sunday reserved for arrival and departure. Each hunt package includes one guide for every two hunters, comfortable lodging, and transportation between lodging and bait sites. We offer meal packages for an additional $500. For those wishing to take a second bear, the fee is $1000. A deposit of $500 USD is required to secure your booking. While deposits are non-refundable, they are transferable within one year to allow you to reschedule your hunt. We limit the number of hunters we book, ensuring we can provide an exceptional, personalized experience. When you hunt with us, you’re not just a client—you’re treated like part of the Half Moon Outfitters family. While our primary focus is black bear, we also offer the opportunity to arrange hunts for moose. Join us at Half Moon Outfitters for a hunting adventure that blends expertise, passion, and unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. We typically begin our hunts in the last week of May or the first week of June, as the winter season lasts longer in the northern part of the province. This timing ensures the best conditions for a successful hunt.

Where you will hunt

Territory

Located in the heart of New Brunswick, we cover a vast territory of 900 km², much of which has never been hunted. This unique and pristine environment allows us to offer exclusive opportunities for harvesting mature boars, ensuring a high-quality hunting experience. Last Spring, we hosted six bear hunters, all of whom had the opportunity to see multiple bears during their five-day hunts. Five out of six hunters successfully harvested bears, with three being mature boars, including two over 300 pounds. One hunter chose not to harvest, waiting for a target bear, showcasing our commitment to selective hunting. Among the successful hunts, one young man celebrated his first bear harvest with a bow, and another bear was taken with a crossbow. We are proud that 5 of the 6 hunters have already booked to return for Spring 2025, reflecting their satisfaction with their experience at Half Moon Outfitters.

June, 2024 New Brunswick, Canada Father/Son Guided Spring Bear Hunt

10.0 of 10

Upon arrival to camp in the pristine and vast wilderness of New Brunswick, Canada, my son Joshua and I had the pleasure of meeting Marco Vachon, our guide and co-owner of a new outfit named Pourvoirie Half Moon Outfitters. Didn't take us long to realize his passion for hunting and his knowledge of bear is second to none! As for the hunt, the rut was in full swing and let me tell you, Marco put us on numerous bears most days. On my 2nd evening on stand, I had so many bears, I lost count, as they started running, weaving and circling around my stand from every direction, with more lurking in the shadows, only to blow their cover while growling or chasing another passing bear! I was content to just watch the show, however, they left me pinned in my stand at the end of the evening, having to wait for Marco to get me out. If he only knew what I was seeing from above...I was bettin' on the bears! LOL!! On the 4th evening, Josh and I barely made it into our stands (14 miles apart) at 4:30 before we had bears in front of us. Josh, who was dying with anticipation, made a perfect shot with his bow and watched his bruin expire within 12 yards of his stand. His 1st archery bear! I also arrowed a big boar. However, recovering it after finding a bloody arrow with no blood trail required Marco's expertise and keen eye in the thick brush to find it. This was also my 1st archery kill and potential P&Y bear with a green skull score of 18 7/16" and weight of 304#. I'd like to give a big shout out to Marco, Mario and Phil for all their help and generosity this past week! These guys went the extra miles, literally, transporting us to/from the airport, recovering and delivering our lost luggage, cooking us delicious meals and reviewing hundreds of pics with us each day to give us the best chance at a trophy bear. We'll have fond memories of our new friends north of the border and the fun and excitement we shared. Thanks Pourvoirie Half Moon Outfitters, you rock!

Black flies and mosquitoes. Highly recommend a ThermoCell and bug suit.

Excellent hunting experience

I traveled from Belgium to hunt with Half Moon Outfitters last spring, and the experience exceeded all my expectations. On my very first sit, I harvested a mature boar with my crossbow—a moment I’ll never forget! The team’s dedication, expertise, and well-prepared bait sites made all the difference. I’m already looking forward to returning next season!....
