About this hunt

This hunt is a true backcountry Elk hunt. Our camps are fly-in only, so you have the chance to hunt some of the most remote areas in the lower 48. Because of our remoteness our area has little to no pressure from privates. This hunt is an 8-day guided hunt with 6 full days of hunting and 1 day to fly/pack in and 1 day to fly/pack out weather permitting. $8,200.00 for one guide servicing one client and $6,900.00 each for one guide servicing two clients. JULY 15th 2025 NON-RESIDENT TAG DEADLINE You will use Choice Aviation out of Hamilton, MT to fly into our Main Moose Creek Camp. The flight price will be through Choice Aviation. The flight is around 15-20 minutes one-way and usually you will fly out at first light weather permitting. Once you arrive at our base camp located next to Moose Creek airstrip, we will begin packing your gear along with ours on our mules. Depending on time of year and what the hunter is comfortable with, we will ride between 2-6 hours to the camp we will be hunting out of. Our main camps will have a full-time camp cook and camp jack, if you're at a spike camp your guide will assume all roles. All of our camps are fully equipped to ensure a comfortable hunt. Our experienced guides have an intimate knowledge of the land and the behavior of Elk, ensuring an optimal hunting experience. We're one of the only places that allow rifle hunting in the rut! You have the opportunity to make this a combo hunt by adding additional tags such as deer, bear, and wolf which is highly encouraged. We're in unit 17 with guaranteed allocated tags, so you can rest assured that you'll have the opportunity to hunt some of the most impressive game. These tags have a deadline, so don't wait too long for the chance of a lifetime!

Elk Hunt

9.3 of 10

This is a real hunt. Hard work, lots of physical exercise. This is not a country for someone new to hunting. There is nothing I didn't like that our guide/outfitter had control over. A real authentic hunt. The Wilderness Act of 1964 makes this a hunt that relies on manpower and perserverance. No motors or wheels allowed, no chainsaws or electric winches. Lots of beautiful scenery and mountains. Miles of hiking in the roughest terrain. Loved every minute of it even though the terrain left me battered and bruised!

Unfortunately we didn't get our elk but not for lack of ability.
