About this hunt
In Northern Idaho, we offer Elk Hunting for Rocky Mountain elk, and you could experience opportunities for 300+ class animals. Archery Elk Hunting season is from August 30th to September 30th, and rifle Elk Hunting season is 10 - 29 October. These are NOT controlled hunts! Our Elk hunts are free-range hunts in rugged terrain and will require clients to hike to prime Elk habitat. Our hunting area is not as rugged or steep as Montana or Colorado, but we do recommend clients are capable of hiking a few miles a day to have a successful Elk hunt. Elk hunting tags for our area are over-the-counter for Idaho residents and can be purchased online or locally in Avery for your convenience. We have allocated tags for adult non-resident elk hunters. These tags are limited, so you should book early to get on our waiting list. Please note that you will have to pay for your tag at the time you sign your contract and provide your deposit. Non-residents can use their tags to take a black bear, mountain lion, or gray wolf if the opportunity presents itself with the purchase of additional tags. We encourage clients to purchase additional predator hunting tags since our hunting area is authorized to take two black bears and mountain lions, as well as five wolves per season. All big-game hunting adventures can be purchased on a first-come / first-serve basis and include transportation to and from Spokane International Airport, full-service camping accommodations, hot meals, shower facilities, as well as tents with cots and heaters. 5 or 7-day Rifle Elk Hunting (B Tag Required)

Where you will hunt
Territory
Our hunting area is not as rugged as Montana or Colorado. Most of our big game hunting trips occur between 4,000 and 5,500 feet. The terrain is still steep and requires hunters to be in shape. Working out before your big game hunt is vital and can increase the probability of a successful hunt.
