About this hunt
Our black bear huns take place in zones 7,15 and 26 of the Quebec wildlife zone. We cover different types of habitat due to the size of the land we have. We mainly hunt on private lands, around 80% of our lands are farmlands with corn and oat fields. Black bears find there all kinds of food they need to go through the Quebec winter, we do not need to make a food plot - we have them all over.. Year to year, we have an average of 90% success. The average black bear size is around 60-80kg but some nice trophy will get over 150kg in the spring time. This semi-guided hunt is over a baited site, and all the hunters have an opportunity to hunt a bait that was never been hunt before him. All the baits are set for bow hunters with shoot under 25 yards or firearm hunters and are designed to offer the best advantages to any hunter. Also, we are offering ground blinds for the ones who cannot hunt from a tree stand - we accommodate all clients. Arrival is on Sunday and hunting is Monday through Friday. Current openings: BOW OR CROSSBOW: 22 to 28 September - 8 spots 29 Sept to 5 October - 8 spots FALL HUNT RIFLE 13 TO 19 October - 5 spots 20 to 26 October - 8 spots

Where you will hunt
Territory
We are located between Montréal and Québec city, along the St-Lawrence River plain. This area is close to two wildlife reserves and a national park. Abandoned lands, marshlands and farmlands in the area form a productive biotope for wildlife. American black bear, woodcock, ruffed grouse, white-tailed deer and moose are found here in great number. For black bears the farmland area offers a great buffet where they are able to find everything they love to eat: corn, oat, berries... Our harvest success is an average of 90% and over for the past years. We have been guiding for black bears since 1991 and we have had a strict control on the harvest, so we do harvest one bear per bait per year - this way we let them grow. So after 25 years of good control we can offer a high quality hunt with trophy bear all over our baiting sites. Today each hunter has the opportunity of harvesting a trophy bear because we do have them.

I took my bear the first day which was awesome. The only problem was that I was there the rest of the week with little to do. Use of a fishing pole would have helped.
The experience. Tree stand hunting and the camaraderie of the group. Food was good and guides instructions were awesome.
Needed something to do after I took my bear.
Great hunt with family like atmosphere. Very knowledgeable and prepared. Just great!
High success rate in a very friendly camp.
I ate too much! Great food.
It was everything he said it to be.... 30 flushes on Woodcock and 5 flushes on Grouse every day. The land you hunt is thick with under growth, but that is where the birds are.
The Champagne family made you feel at home, with all home cooked meals and family talk at the dinner table.
One area had mosquitos to warm.....
