About this hunt
Day Itinerary Upon arrival at Silvio Pettirossi international airport (ASU) in Asuncion, you will clear customs and be met by a DBH representative who will drive you approximately 2 hrs to Parque Zanjita Lodge. You will eat lunch, and then head out that afternoon for a 1/2 day duck/pigeon hunt. After returning to the lodge from the hunt, you can clean up and enjoy some appetizers and cocktails before dinner is served. Day 3-6: Parque Zanjita, Day Itinerary These three days will consist of morning duck hunts and afternoon ducks or pigeon hunts. Also you have the opportunity to fish right next to the lodge. DUCKS - • Hunting Time: Duck hunting with us takes place in the morning. Ducks are often more active during these hours, making it the ideal time for successful hunting. During the afternoon you can also enjoy a short shooting with high volume of birds! • Species of Ducks: This region is home to various species of ducks. Some common species you might encounter include the Rosy-billed Pochard, whistling duck and Silver Teal. Each species might have slightly different behaviors and habitat preferences. • Hunting Setup: Ducks are all around a huge area of rice fields. We set up our blinds with several decoys that are essential tools for attracting ducks to our hunting area. - PIGEONS - • Pigeon hunt: Pigeon hunting in Paraguay is known for its high volume. The region hosts vast numbers of doves, making it a popular destination for hunters seeking an exciting and action-packed experience. Hunting Time:Afternoon hunts • Hunting Limit: There’s no bag limit, but during duck season thingk about shooting an average of 30/40 per hunter per day. Gina organized a great hunt and despite the fact that I was alone, I was offered excellent prices. According to the weather forecast, heavy rain with lightning was expected on the first day of my hunt. Gina suggested changing the schedule as I would be comfortable. I was there and therefore promptly changed everything. Thus, I slightly changed the schedule and got three full, unforgettable hunting days. Of course, during my hunting period, the flight of birds is not yet as dense as in the high season. Nevertheless, in two days of hunting for Dove, 639, 1177 were caught and in one day about 100 for pigeon (here pigeon flew very weakly). Having extensive experience in organizing goose hunts in Belarus, I perfectly understand how difficult it is to organize a hunt for one hunter without changing the price and what needs to be done so that the hunter is satisfied! De Bernardis Did Not Disappoint
Friendly and professional staff. Excellent wing shooting. Staff (guides and house staff) were very accommodating and eager to fulfill requests. Wonderful meeting Gina and her father, Hector, as well as the lodge owner, Attos and his father George.
Some may find the lodge rustic, but I really enjoyed it. There is no better way to experience Argentina wing shooting than in a 100+ year old estancia with comfortable chairs in front of a roaring fire.
