About this hunt

Mountain Lions are predators, Elk are prey. every winter the two meet on our 30 mile stretch of the river drainage along the South Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho’s pristine Back Country – providing you with the opportunity to track, tree, and harvest a monster, Mountain Lion! Its mother nature at her best – the Elk and deer herds migrate down to the river and the cats await their arrival and your right in the mix of it all! We have some of the best hunting for Idaho Mountain Lions, with a high number of population and the perfect winter range and terrain to increase your chances for a successful Hunt! For the past several years our success rate has been high for harvesting big Mountain Lions. Naturally, this is one of our most popular hunts. It is a physically challenging hunt since tracking the big cat is required. We strongly suggest you arrive in top physical condition, so you may enjoy and participate in this heart-pounding chase across Idaho’s Beautiful Back Country! Our Mountain Lion Hunts are done from December 15th through March 31st. We provide lodging in our cabin out of Yellow Pine, Idaho along with meals. We drive from Yellow Pine 15 miles to the South Fork where we begin looking for tracks, our highly trained dogs Know how to get the job done! We use ATV’s, Snow Mobiles, 4wheel Drive Vehicles, Snow Shoes & Horses all methods are dependent on what the weather dictates! All in all, when you get that Big Tom Treed it is one of the most heart-pounding and worthwhile hunts you will ever experience, just be ready to chase the cougar’s and we will do everything in our power to make sure you harvest a Big Idaho Mountain Lion!

Thanks-enjoyed

Outfitter Tom & Sara were nice to work with & the guides worked hard & took us all over trying to get us on bears. Meals from Sara were delicious & our cabin stay was comfortable too. I’d recommend them to anyone 😊

Although no fault of the outfitter/guides, there was an unusual amount of early Spring snow that seemed to hinder the bears coming out of hibernation.
