More about us
Our company was established in 2021 and operates in 1 territory.
- My name is Jonas Wande, who together with my hunter wife, Elvira Wande. I was born in the mid 80's and have been hunting myself since my legs carried me and shot my first bird at the age of 7. Since then, hunting has been the main part of my life. Although forest bird hunting is an invincible favorite, large parts of the hunting year also consist of hunting deer, moose, beaver, hare, marten, sea birds and badger. In short, all the game that moves in the forests of northern Sweden. We do most of the hunts together with our eminent hunting dogs. Our ambition is that our hunting dogs should not be characterized by a single game, but that they - as we say - should be "all-round dogs". Sometimes, however, we leave the forests of northern Sweden to hunt deer or pigs to the south of Sweden.
- Game management is an important part of hunting life, where we believe it is just as important to place salt stones and winter feeding, as to conduct predator control to maintain a good game population. During the winter, we therefore devote a lot of time to trapping as a local form of game management, which mainly consists of traps for marten and fox snares.
- Our ambition is therefore to help you who want to become a hunter with your journey towards a hunting degree, but also to help you as an already experienced hunter to further develop your skills or join a hunting experience in the forests of Norrland.
About this hunt
WHAT TO EXPECT? From 25th august we hunt capercalle and black grouse with bird dogs (german wiredhaired pointer). This hunt continues until around november, when the terrain gets to rough for the dogs. The dog search within a pretty close radius, freezing when finding a bird and allowing us to sneek up on the bird. On our command, the dog rises the bird, giving us opportunity to shoot. Temperatures can vary from around -5 to +20 degrees depending on the time of the season. This hunt requires that the hunter is in somewhat good physical condition as it is an active hunt. The hunt is made with shotguns. The shooting distances are the opportunities in range within 35 meters. The shooting opportunities often appears quickly, and you need to be experienced with a shotgun. Capercallie/black grouse forest hunting with pointing dogs is one of the most beautiful hunts. The days are long in the beginning of the season, which means there’s room for ”fika-breaks”. WHAT TO EAT? We cook lunch and dinner outdoors over an open fire, in order to achieve a true wilderness experience. Such as swedish "palt" or swedish "köttbullar" made out of moose, grilled over muurikka, or sausages barbecued over an open fire. If we have a succesful hunting day, we cook what we have shot for dinner. On our mid-hunt breaks, we enjoy swedish fika. Some other of our swedish specials you’ll have to try is the swedish caviar, the swedish sausage “falukorv”, clouderry jam on swedish pancakes, smoked reindeer crème cheese on the breakfast sandwiches, lingonberry jam & juice, swedens famous mixed candy and ofcourse – slicing cheese with a cheese slicer. All the food, drinks and alcoholic beverages are included in the daily fee.

Success rate
No guarantees of shooting a bird is to be set - Capercallie/black grouse winter stalking is considered as one of the most difficult game to hunt. The birds have sharp vision and hearing, and once spotted, you have to carefully sneak towards them until they’re in range. The capercallie is the real king of the swedish forest. A capercallie/black grouse shot by winter stalking is equivalent with the trophy of a bullmoose – therefore many hunters choose to convert their carefully shot birds into a trophy through a taxidermist.
