About this hunt

Spring black bear hunting starts in mid May and runs until about the third week of June, when the bear's coats are in prime condition. The bears range in size from 6' to 7'. Losing up to 1/3 of their body weight over the winter, these bears can still weigh as much as 400 lbs. Opportunity and success on spring bear hunts is typically 100%. Our hunts also offer fantastic fishing at this time of year for 1-4 lbs rainbow and 8-15 lbs lake trout (char). In the spring the bears can be seen feeding on the fresh green in the various openings and roads of Northern BC. It is often clear cuts and side roads that green up first in May & June. The bear hunts are done from a pick-up, ATV or by walking. It is not uncommon to see more than 20 to 40 bears on your 6-day hunt. Our record in 2023 was 48 black bears & 6 grizzly in one day. But that's not normal. We have a great location with a tremendous number of big bears. This part of our area is being managed for high quality and we only take a limited number of clients to maintain a good number of large boars. The 2 camps are accessible by road,. After one night at the Hotel in Prince George we will make the 5 hour journey to Camp. The accommodations are in comfortable cabins situated in perfect locations to access prime areas. These camps like most of our camps have a nice hot shower setup. What is special about us: We have specifically trained tracking dogs for when a shot isn't perfect. All the meat will be handled professionally and utilized. You can take all that is wanted and legal for you to bring home. The rest will be donated to various meals on wheels programs and a soup kitchen in town or for events at the lokal indigenous village. Since 2020 we run an indigenous youth apprenticeship program with 4 students from the lokal Takla Nation that our clients help make happen by booking with us.

Camps/Log Cabins/Lodges

Most camps are wood or log structures with cook and bunk cabins. They are fully equipped with wood stoves, propane lights and cook stoves, shower setups, beds, and foam mattresses. Some of these cabins are located on beautiful lakes. These camps are all outfitted with boats and motors, or canoes with paddles. Lifejackets and other safety gear is present. They are all a very comfortable base to go hunt out of and get back to after a long day in the field. Each camp has its own character and we would be happy to help you choose the one best for you.
