- A Nova Scotia based business, owned and operated by Shan and Sali. Shannon has spent most of his life in the back woods with over 35 years of hunting and angling experience. He is a licensed trapper and guide as well as a Marine Navigational Officer. Qualified as a medical first responder and volunteer to Ground Search and Rescue, Shan has spent countless hours in the back country exploring the wilderness and beauty Nova Scotia has to offer. Like Shan, Sali is a licensed guide for hunting and fishing in both Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Certified in CPR and emergency water rescue.

Nova Scotia Black Bear Hunt over bait. This hunt is 5 days Monday to Friday, but we book our guests 6 nights as you will arrive on Sunday, hunt Monday to Friday and depart on the Saturday. We do not mix this camp, so each week could have 1-4 hunters of the same group, but no other hunters mixed in. Hunt Dates available; Sept 7th-13th Sept 14th-20th Sept 21st-27th Sept 28th-Oct 4th Oct 5th-11th Oct 12th-18th Oct 19th-25th Oct 26th-Nov 1st This is European Style hunt where you will need to provide your own food for the week and cook your own meals. You will be staying at our off-grid cabin about an hour drive from the Halifax Stanfield International Airport. We provide free airport pickup and drop-off, and can take you to a local grocery store to purchase your groceries for the week. All linens are provided and there is an outdoor toilet and outdoor shower, as well as there is propane cookstoves and a BBQ as well as a woodstove for heat. Lanterns and candles for lights as this cabin is completely off grid, but can be drove into. We typically only hunt the last 4hrs of daylight each afternoon/evening as this is when the bears are most active at our baits. Your guide will pick you up at the cabin each afternoon by ATV and place you in your own stand over your own bait site, and will be on standby nearby should you need anything. You will be picked up just after dark each evening and taken back to the cabin for the night. Any bears killed will be taken to a local butcher shop to be skinned and hung, but any taxidermy or meat processing will be at your own expense. Hides and skulls can be flash frozen for transport within Canada or US, but all other countries must be taken to a local taxidermist as they must be shipped later with a CITES Permit.

Success rate
All of our hunters are placed in active bait sites and we had a 90% success rate in our bear seasons with most of them taken on the first day of their hunts.

We are unlike all other outfitters/guide services because we are urban based. Located in the Halifax Regional Municipality, which covers shy of 5500 square km and while we don’t hunt in the urban areas of course, there are hundreds of square km that are wooded and very remote from the city. We are a short 20 min drive from the Halifax Stanfield International Airport. We house our guests in hotels rather than remote hunting camps This hunt is on 1900 acres of private, gated land that borders onto 1000's of acres of government lands that are only accessible through this property. We have the only bear hunting rights to this property, and our baits are active from late July until November each year.

Nova Scotia bear hunting
My wife and I both hunted with Shan and Sali and we had a great time with them. The area we hunted had a lot of bears and they did an excellent job of putting us on them. The food and hotel was good too. We have no complaints and look forward to returning.
