Bohor reedbuck hunting in Tanzania {{ totalToursString }}
Three subspecies of Bohor Reedbuck occur in Tanzania. However, all three subspecies are listed in the SCI Record Book as Eastern Bohor Reedbuck.
The three subspecies are the Eastern, Highland Bohor Reedbuck or Ward's Reedbuck population that extends over 90% of the country. The other two minor subspecies are the Ugandan or Ankole Bohor Reedbuck in the west of the country and the Swahili Bohor Reedbuck found in the northeastern corner of the country. This species occupies the northern range of Reedbuck and is the intermediate form (middle in size and horn length) of the Common and Mountain Reedbuck species. Their colouring is the same as for all Reedbuck (Whitetail Deer colouring) and they have forward-curving horns like their larger cousins.
Classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN. A prepurchased 16-day Tanzanian hunting license must be obtained before your safari commences.
