Abyssinian bushbuck hunting in Ethiopia {{ totalToursString }}
Abyssinian Bushbuck are the most widely distributed subspecies of the four subspecies of Bushbuck found in Ethiopia. Their distribution covers more than two-thirds of the middle and upper regions of the country. However, they are absent from the highland areas where they are replaced by the Menelik’s Bushbuck.
Abyssinian Bushbuck are a yellowish brown colour, with a black dorsal stripe and white striping on the flank. Often no spots or stripes occur on the rump and often the white neck collar is absent.
Abyssinian Bushbuck, as with all Bushbuck are very elusive and difficult to hunt. They are usually solitary, territorial animals, found close to water. A productive hunting method is to carefully probe dense cover and always be mindful of the prevailing wind direction which often swirls in this type of vegetation.
Abyssinian Bushbuck can only be hunted in Ethiopia and is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special hunting permits are required to export a trophy.
