Where to hunt Teal
Teal are small, fast-flying ducks that are highly prized by waterfowl hunters for their speed, agility, and delicious table fare. In North America, the most commonly hunted species are the blue-winged teal, green-winged teal, and cinnamon teal, with prime habitats including wetlands, marshes, and agricultural fields. These ducks are found across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with the southern U.S. being particularly renowned for early-season teal hunting. Cinnamon teal is also common in South America, and is often targeted as part of waterfowl packages in Argentina, Uruguay, and Bolivia, along with silver teal and ringed teal. In Europe and Asia, the Eurasian teal (or common teal) is a popular quarry, thriving in wetlands and lakes throughout the continent. Countries like the UK, France, and Russia are known for excellent teal hunting opportunities during their respective waterfowl seasons.
Price distribution
Teal hunting is priced similarly to other duck hunting; in fact, most guides and hunters simply pursue all dabbling ducks that are around and in season. In North America, guided hunts typically cost between $300 and $400 per day, with prices rising to $800 and $1,500 a hunter a day for multi-day trips that include catering and accommodation. Luxury lodges in Argentina, as well as remote backcountry offers in places like Alaska, may cost even more. In Europe, prices are comparable.
