Southern impala hunting in Namibia {{ totalToursString }}
Impala is a medium-sized antelope. Only the males have horns and are a popular breed of animal to be hunted by first-time hunters to Africa. Once only Springbuck could tolerate these semi-arid regions which cover most of the country but with the provision of permanent water, all has changed. Impala is a water-dependent species that have adapted to the semi-arid regions where they have been successfully reintroduced.
The Southern Impala is found mainly in the eastern parts of the country as opposed to the Black-faced Impala which occurs in the northern areas around Etosha National Park. Good representative specimens can be hunted throughout their range. This is one species that you will hunt more than once to improve your trophy quality or used for bait and maybe even camp rations.
Namibia is following the South African game ranching trend and some colour variant species have been introduced to the country but still in limited numbers.
No special permits are required to hunt these species.
