Sable hunting in Zambia {{ totalToursString }}
The Sable Antelope in Zambia is known for its striking, glossy black coat in males and dark brown coat in females, along with long, curved horns. It is a prized trophy due to its impressive and majestic appearance.
Of the five Sable subspecies, two can be found in Zambia, the Southern Sable throughout most of the country and the Kirk's Sable in western Zambia renowned for its magnificent trophies and perhaps influenced by the Royal Sable genetics from neighbouring Angola.
The best place to hunt Sable in Zambia is in the Kafue National Park region and its surrounding game management areas. They can also be hunted in the Luangwa Valley and Western Zambia has some excellent genes. These regions are renowned for their healthy sable populations and well-regulated hunting opportunities.
Sable is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special permits are required to hunt a Sable other than a Zambian hunting license.
