Где охотиться на Топи
Topi is reputed to be the fastest antelope on the African continent. They are closely related to the Tsessebe, Korrigum and Tiang. Tope or Topi is named after the Swahili word for the species. Topi naturally occurs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. They may only be hunted in northern and western Tanzania.
When to hunt Topi?
Topi may be hunted from 1 July to 31 December in Tanzania. They are best hunted in the winter and autumn months from July - October. By October/November the heat is intense in these parts of Africa so be prepared if you hunt later in the year.

Topi is normally hunted spot and stalk from the vehicle or by walk and stalk. They are often found near permanent water in the late afternoon and prefer relatively open habitats. Topi is often spotted from the truck while driving around. Once sighted your PH will assess the animals for a suitable trophy and then plan your stalk once the vehicle has been moved out of sight.

Why hunt Topi?
Topi often uses termite mounds as lookout points thus making for a challenging approach in an open area. Although these animals do not have the most impressive horns, they have the most beautiful reddish-brown to purple-red coats with dark patches on their face, upper forelegs, hips and thighs. You may be tempted to skull mount your trophy and rather display the skin which makes for a rather beautiful rug.
