Where to hunt Canada Goose
The Canada goose is one of the most widespread and iconic waterfowl species, offering excellent hunting opportunities across its expansive range. Native to North America, Canada geese are found throughout Canada, the United States, and even into northern Mexico during migration. They are not overly shy of humans, and have become a real plague in many urban areas. But try hunting one - and you’ll see that the obnoxious park or golf field bird can be one of the most challenging quarries ever. Prime hunting destinations include the agricultural fields and wetlands of Canada’s Prairie Provinces — Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba — where massive flocks congregate during their seasonal migrations. In the United States, the Midwest, Great Plains, and coastal states offer exceptional hunting, with states like Arkansas, Texas, and the Dakotas being key hotspots. Canada geese have also been introduced to the UK and Scandinavia, from where their populations spread across most of Europe, and regulated hunting is available in many countries.

When to hunt Canada Goose?
The best time to hunt Canada Geese aligns with their seasonal migrations and wintering periods. In Canada and the northern United States, the prime season begins in early fall (September) as geese begin their southward migration. The hunting continues into late winter, with peak activity during the cold months of November to January when large flocks settle in agricultural fields and wetlands. In most European countries, Canada geese are viewed as game animals, rather than invasive species, and their hunting are regulated as per general waterfowl seasons, that vary from country to country; special crop protection hunting permits may also be available.
