Kob hunting in Cameroon {{ totalToursString }}
Kob is a muscular medium-sized antelope and closely related to the Reedbucks, Lechwe and Waterbucks. Their colour varies from golden to reddish-brown with a white throat patch and underbelly. Only the males have horns that are thick and lyrate in shape.
Kob is a grassland species which can be hunted during a Cameroonian savannah safari.
Kobs inhabit open flat areas with good fresh grazing close to permanent water. Female herds may congregate in large numbers of over a thousand animals whilst moving in search of suitable green grass grazing. Male bachelor herds of over a hundred follow the female herds, especially during the dry season. The majority of males will establish a territory when found in densely populated areas on a floodplain while the rest live in clustered areas known as leks.
Kob is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special import or export permits are required. Kob hunting licenses must be purchased before your hunt starts.
