Klipspringer hunting in Namibia {{ totalToursString }}
Klipspringer, with their goat-like rubbery hooves, is known as the ballerinas of the Namibian mountains. Classified as a member of the “Tiny Ten”, this animal has a thick, spiny quill-like coat and its colouring varies from dull-grey to brown with fine black speckles.
Their distribution stretches from north to south following the mountain range along the central portion of the country. They are solitary animals and are also often found in pairs or small family groups. The males establish territories that are scent-marked.
Klipspringers are curious by nature and will often stand motionless just watching the hunting party. Once disturbed they will hop nimbly across the rocks or steep rock faces and disappear. If not silhouetted on the skyline they may be difficult to see so you will need to spend some time scanning the rocks for any signs of movement.
Klipspringer is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special hunting permits are required.
