Impala hunting in Zimbabwe {{ totalToursString }}
Impala is a nimble common species, popularly hunted by predators and man alike due to their considerable numbers and widespread availability. Only Impala males have horns and will defend a territory during the peak of the rut in April – May. They can also be found in large bachelor groups.
Impala is found throughout the country except for the Eastern Highlands. This well-adapted animal can be found in large numbers both in the wild and in the private game reserves and ranches spread across the country.
For many first time hunters to Africa, this will be the first animal they ever hunt. Impalas are hunted for the pot, staff rations, bait animals and as trophy animals. Impalas are very alert animals and difficult to stalk when in a herd giving a short blasting snort at the first signs of danger.
Prearranged hunting licenses are required to hunt an Impala and no special permits are required to export this species.
