Hare hunting in Tanzania {{ totalToursString }}
Hares are often referred to as Rabbits. However, one of the most distinguishing features between the two species is the length of the ears. Scrub Hares have longer ears than Rabbits.
Hares are nocturnal animals that are normally only hunted as a trophy of opportunity when flushed during a hunt or encountered early in the morning or late at dusk. They are normally used as part of a hunter's predator display.
If enough Hares are collected by a hunter, they make a good Rabbit pie and the meat is much sought after by the locals as a source of protein who hunt them with dogs.
Hares are listed as a species of least concern by the IUCN.
