Grysbuck hunting in Tanzania {{ totalToursString }}
Two subspecies of Sharpe’s Grysbuck (Grysbok) are found in Africa but only one subspecies occurs in Tanzania. Sharpe’s Grysbok is split into the Northern and Southern groups. The Northern Grysbok can be hunted in the southern and central regions of Tanzania.
Grysbuck is a small light brown reddish antelope that can easily be misidentified as a Steenbok. However, on closer inspection very distinctive white speckles of hair can be found on the body.
Only the males have horns and are mainly nocturnal animals living in pairs. Each pair use dung middens to demarcate their territory. They may be disturbed while resting up in the heat of the day and run away with their heads held low, almost in a bowing position.
Grysbuck is listed by the IUCN as a species of least concern.
