Francolin hunting in Namibia {{ totalToursString }}
Francolin hunting over well-trained dogs is a very special experience not readily available in Namibia. However, Namibia offers some fantastic walk and stalk Francolin shooting which is very different to sitting at a waterhole waiting for the Sandgrouse to arrive. The Francolin group of species often includes Spurfowl species which were originally classified as Francolin.
Francolin can be hunted throughout the country with the semi-arid grasslands and big game concession areas of the Zambezi (formerly Caprivi) Region offering the best upland bird shooting.
The following Francolins can be hunted in Namibia: Crested Francolin, Coqui Francolin and Orange River Francolin. You can also add the following Spurfowl to the list: Hartlaub’s Spurfowl, Red-billed Spurfowl, Cape Spurfowl, Swainson’s Spurfowl and Red-necked Spurfowl.
Francolin is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN, no special hunting permits are required.
