Feral goat hunting in South Africa {{ totalToursString }}
Feral Goats are domestic Goats that have turned wild. This usually occurs in the more arid and mountainous regions of the country where it is difficult for farmers to round up their goats on a daily basis due to the harsh terrain.
The most commonly farmed goat in South Africa is the Boer Goat (Boerbokke). Being mainly browsers, they can significantly assist with bush encroachment management. The three most commonly ranched goats are the Boer Goat, Savanna and Kalahari Red.
Feral Goats can cause an ecological disaster if their numbers are not controlled. Not many places have these goats available for hunting. Being classified as a domestic animal means that no hunting licenses are required to hunt this species.
