About this hunt

Deep Creek Outfitters offers trophy Limited-Entry bull elk hunts on the Panguitch, Southwest Desert (South), and Southwest Desert (North) units. Depending on the hunt dates and the client’s needs, camp accommodations may consist of travel trailers, wall tents, or backcountry camps with horses or pack llamas. *We do not have any landowner tags for sale. All tags must be drawn during the state's application process* Panguitch Lake unit has been one of the top producing elk units for the past few years. But this tag typically takes a lot of points to draw! But if you're lucky enough to draw this unit has the potential to produce 370"+ bulls on any hunt. If you're lucky enough to draw give us a call! Southwest Desert (North) unit is one of our favorite limited-entry elk units. There are only two hunts on this unit: September archery and a late season HAMSS hunt (primitive weapons). The September archery hunt is an extremely fun hunt with a lot of rutting activity. These tags still take quite a few points to draw, but they are easier to draw than some of the other limited-entry units. Southwest Desert (South) is known for producing some giant desert bull elk. The average quality in the south unit is 320-350", but there are plenty of bulls over 360" taken every year. If you have any questions about which hunts to apply for, please give us a call or send us a message!

Where you will hunt

Territory

In the southwestern corner of Utah, this is one of the largest deer units in the state and includes the Pine Valley Mountains and several other ranges. It is not managed to produce trophy-class bucks but has produced some great deer, including the former state record typical. The big rugged mountains in this unit provide great glassing points but also make it difficult to make a play on the deer. Scouting will be your best bet to locate, pattern, and harvest these deer. Low country can hold good deer also, but the vast pinyon-juniper forest can make it extremely difficult to see the deer long enough to have a chance.
