About this hunt
ROMANIA • 3 days hunting for one representative Carpathian Chamois; Game Fee reduction on ± age class or CIC measurement, see Game Fee rates. • Hotel accommodation is subject to the number of hunting days and level of accommodation required by guests. • The hunting package price is subject to the itinerary outset (i.e. airport transfer or own transport), further quarry species game fees, and the level of hotel / lodge accommodation guests require (as stated above) Carpathian chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra carpatica) - is arguably a distinct chamois species being the largest chamois both in body mass and horn size. We hunt the highest Carpathian mountains peak of Moldoveanu, Munții Făgăraș. The Chamois are the ballet dancers of the mountain cliff edges, passing up mountain slopes that look inaccessible, leaping from ledge to precipice, balancing on the tiniest of ridges - living their lives in alpine and sub-alpine meadows habitats above the timberline, wintering on steep slopes or flatter forested terrain where snow does not accumulate.

The hunting area is located in the Parâng Mountains, second largest mountains in the Romanian Carpathians after the Făgăraș Mountains, with the highest peak, Parângu Mare, reaching 2519 metres. • The predominant ecosystems are subalpine and alpine meadow grasslands located above tree line, dominated by Carex curvula, Juncus trifidus (alpine zone) and Festuca airoides, Nardus stricta, Festuca nigrescens (subalpine zone).
