More about us
Our company was established in 2000 and operates in 1 territory.
- We are a family run business and we take pride in providing you the hunt of your dreams. Our area is home to world class black bears and we work hard around the clock to get you one. We also believe in having a good time and forming relationships with our clients. It is common to visit around the table or the fire, have a drink, tell stories and just have fun, that’s what bear camp is all about.
- We know that for many of our clients, they are on a vacation just as much as they are on a hunt, and that is part of the reason why we excel. We have a lot to offer besides just bear hunting, like relaxing in the gorgeous Canadian wilderness, fishing our pristine lakes or visiting with fellow hunters and guides. Manitoba is known for its size and number of black bears and we are no exception. There are many trophy black bears and color bears in our area, and we go an extra mile to put them in front of you. If you are looking to go on a black bear hunt we are the place for you.
About this hunt
We offer guided bear hunts for trophy black bears over bait sites in our exclusive non-resident hunting area which is 500,000 acres (over 700 square miles). We have a very healthy population of bears in our area including many trophy bears and a variety of color phases, including chocolate, cinnamon, blonde and other variations. Our remote hunting area has vast amounts of rich forests, lakes, creeks, swamps, and cuts which allows bears to mature and grow to trophy size. Spring hunts typically start the third week of May, and fall hunts start at the end of August or start of September. The Manitoba rule is to have a minimum one guide for every three hunters. In many cases we will have two hunters per guide but it is also common for us to be one on one with the hunter. Hunters typically see many bears and have multiple chances to harvest a mature bear. We spend the time with you to understand what it takes for your hunt to be considered a success and we do everything possible to meet those goals. It is very common to get an opportunity at your target bear but it is up to you to make a lethal shot on the animal. Sometimes mother nature can put a damper on your hunt but we can assure you that our rule is to do everything in our power to make your hunt successful. Packages can be tailored to your needs, please inquire if needed!

Camp
We run a large Weather Haven dome tent with a wooden floor that serves as the kitchen/common area. The kitchen tent has all the dining essentials, as well as a large wood stove to keep everyone warm and dry on cooler days. For sleeping arrangements, we have prospector tents that are equipped with a small wood stove and cots that will sleep 4 hunters each comfortably. Camp is also equipped with a shower with hot water and an outhouse. Despite being a tent camp, it is very comfortable and is a true example of a Canadian wilderness experience. In the heart of trophy bear and fishing territory, camp is sure to be an outdoor adventure of a lifetime.

Evergreen Resort
Evergreen Resort Lodge is located on beautiful Clearwater Lake located 20 minutes north of The Pas, Manitoba. Clearwater Lake is considered to be the second clearest true-blue lake in the entire world and is known for it's abundant amount of trophy Lake Trout and Northern Pike. The bear population in this area is very strong and supports a great ratio of large black and color bears. We provide all transportation to bait sites, and will typically take a truck to the general area and then ride ATV's into the baits from there. The main lodge is where hunters will eat and socialize. Hunters will stay in their own modern lakefront cabins that are equipped with beds, bathroom, and a kitchenette which will typically be shared between 3 hunters. Hunting at the lodge is an excellent choice and is a perfect place to stay on a bear hunt.

Wounding
- If you take a shot at a bear, our policy is that we will make every possible effort to recover your bear. However, if we cannot find the bear, we consider it wounded. At this point you have two options. You can end your hunt and consider your bear tag filled, or continue your hunt after paying an additional $300 wounding fee. Why a wounding fee? We don’t like to see a hunter have their hunt stopped without getting a bear but we also don’t like wounding bears. We put many hours into trying to find you a trophy bear to harvest and when a bear is wounded, you have either killed or educated the bear and eliminated a bear from our bait sites. This fee is in place to encourage the hunter to think about their shot wisely, as well as to account for the time and resources we have to spend searching for wounded bears and finding a new bait for the hunter if necessary. We understand that wounding animals is sometimes inevitable and is a part of hunting, but to minimize wounding please practice prior to your arrival, take your time, and make a clean ethical shot.
