Where to hunt East African Bushbuck
The East African Bushbuck is also known as Masai Bushbuck and is found in the eastern African countries of Kenya and the southernmost areas of Somalia and Ethiopia. Kenya has banned hunting making Tanzania the primary hunting destination in the region. This slightly larger Bushbuck is predominantly brown in colour with spots rather than stripes, however, considerable colour variations within the species is a common occurrence.
Price distribution
Daily rates for a plains game hunt in Tanzania range from $3500 – 4000. In most cases, this excludes numerous other incidentals like conservation and community fees that have not been included in the daily rate prices. Daily rate fees also increase in price if the hunt includes dangerous game species. Trophy East African Bushbuck fees range from $750 – 1200 and keep in mind that this does not include any license fees.
When to hunt East African Bushbuck?
East African Bushbuck may be hunted from 1 July until 31 December in Tanzania. Bushbuck are nocturnal animals that leave the dense undergrowth at night to feed on the forest and riverine margins. The best time to hunt these areas is at dawn and dusk when you are likely to encounter a feeding Bushbuck. They are also a water-dependent species so often drawn to/or found near water during the day.
