Dik dik hunting in Tanzania {{ totalToursString }}
Of the four species of Dik-dik, only Kirk's Dik-dik can be hunted in Tanzania. However, three subspecies occur in the country, namely the most commonly hunted Ugogo or Thomas' Dik-dik and the Nyika Dik-dik subspecies and in the far northwestern region you find Cavendish's Dik-dik.
This species of Dik-dik show a significant variation in colour from pale yellow in the south to a rich red colour in the north. They fall into the Long Snouted Group of Dik-diks, however, their snout is shorter than their northern neighbour, Gunther's Dik-dik.
Kirk's Dik-dik is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and may be hunted on a 16-day Tanzanian hunting license.
