Bushbuck hunting in Mozambique {{ totalToursString }}
Bushbuck and the Duikers create the most controversy at the subspecies level. Bushbuck are divided into 23 subspecies of which three occur in Mozambique.
The most common subspecies found throughout virtually the whole country except the extreme southern regions is the Chobe Bushbuck. This strikingly beautiful chestnut-coloured Bushbuck has dark brown legs and a white dorsal crest. The legs are white on the inside and some are lightly striped or spotted.
In the Limpopo River basin, you find the Limpopo or Commings Bushbuck. This Bushbuck is a lighter brown form of the Chobe Bushbuck with more visible striping and generally longer horns.
Cape Bushbuck occur along the southern border with South Africa and are dark brown (chocolate) with white spots on the rump, a white dorsal stripe and a white neck collar.
Bushbuck are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special permits are required to hunt a Bushbuck.
