Buffalo hunting in Tanzania {{ totalToursString }}
The Cape Buffalo also known as African Buffalo, Savanna or Southern Buffalo and is the only species of Buffalo that occurs in Tanzania.
The name "Cape" originates from when this species was first encountered by the explorers who first landed at the Cape of Good Hope now known as Cape Town, South Africa. These large cattle-like animals need no introduction as it is every hunter's dream to face such an adversary known in hunting circles as "Black Death". They have an acute sense of smell and poor eyesight and always look at you as if you owe them money. This is one animal you do not want to wound as they have a habit of circling back when being tracked and waiting for a chance to attack the hunting party. This makes them one of Africa's most dangerous animals to hunt.
They are listed in the IUCN Red Data List as a species of least concern and may be hunted on a Tanzanian 10-day hunting license.
