Blue duiker hunting in Mozambique {{ totalToursString }}
Blue Duiker are one of the smallest antelope in the world. This blueish-coloured Duiker is found in the forested areas of the country and is most plentiful along the eastern seaboard.
Although they all look very similar, five subspecies occur in Mozambique. The Southern or Zulu Blue Duiker occurs in the extreme southern parts of the country, the Coastal, Mozambique Blue or Heck’s Duiker in the southeastern regions, the South Eastern Rhodesian Blue Duiker occurs in the forest adjacent to Zimbabwe, the North Eastern Rhodesian Blue Duiker is found along the Malawi/Zambia border region and the Usangu Blue Duiker or Urori Duiker in the highlands of the far northern Mozambique regions.
Both males have horns and are very difficult to sex in the field.
Blue Duikers are listed as declining by the IUCN and require a CITES II export permit.
