About this hunt
Our elk hunt is during the start of the rut in the bow season on a mix of government and privately owned land in the foothills of northern Alberta. We hunt from our ranch with hunters staying in our comfortable lodge. We take a max of 4 hunters per week and the guiding is done 2 on 1. All meals at the lodge are provided. During the hunt we will spend the mornings walking and calling for elk, at noon we head back for lunch at the lodge and then during the evening hunt we may sit over a water hole or wallow or watch a field where the elk may come out to eat. The size of elk we will be looking for is between 250 and 350 pt. 5×5 and 6×6. It is an exciting time to hear the elk bugling and to call them into range. this is one of the few areas where we can hunt elk in the rut with rifles. We also will hunt elk the end of October when they come out onto the grain, and alfalfa fields. This is a six-day hunt . The licence fee is 400 and covers 1 licence and a Wolf Tag,and is added to the cost of the hunt. All hunters will receive a contract with the pricing and terms.

Lodge
Our whitetail deer, wolf, elk, and moose hunts take place from our fully -furnished lodge located 40 minutes south of Grande Prairie, Alberta. With 3 bedrooms in the lodge, you will be assured a comfortable night’s sleep. A dining room and fireplace create a relaxed atmosphere for unwinding after a day’s hunt. With bedding, towels and laundry service supplied, it is easy to travel with a minimum of luggage.

Incredible Elk Hunt Experience
Everything was great from beginning to end. Lowell is a great guy and a great host and a super hunter/guide. He has all the facilities that you need for a comfortable stay and for taking care of your game when you are successful. He has thousands of acres and knows the property like the back of his hand. Game cameras everywhere ensure that you will be hunting in the best spots. Calling in a bull elk and being face to face at 50 yards was truly an experience of a lifetime. Lowell takes pride in what he does and works very hard to ensure that you have a great experience from beginning to end. His chef made some incredible meals and deserts. His family was warm and fun to hang with. I came as a client and left as a friend

Accommodations were great. Food was amazing. Lowell and staff were knowledgeable and hard working. We had 100% opportunity and 67% success. I would book with them again in a heartbeat!

Vast areas to hunt, guides & Lowell the outfitter were knowledgeable about elk & the areas to hunt. They worked hard every day to get us on game. Accommodations & the meals provided by Ruth & Shawnelle were excellent!!! **The evening after our last hunt opportunity, Lowell said if we didn’t need to depart for home early the next morning, he would take us out again in the morning for an additional chance. I’ve never had an outfitter go that extra mile giving us a bonus opportunity. Kudos to the entire staff.
Although we saw a lot of deer, 6 black bears, a cow moose & her calf, the bull elk weren’t vocal & didn’t get any shot opportunity.
