Zebra hunting in Tanzania {{ totalToursString }}
There are three Zebra species of which only the Plains Zebra is found in Tanzania. The Grants or Boehms Zebra (Plains Zebra) is the subspecies found throughout the country's hunting concessions.
These are the smallest in body size of the Plains Zebra group. They are distinctly demarcated with black and white striping and no shadow stripe. The stripes go right around the stomach and all the way down the legs to the hooves. Zebra are bulk grazers and therefore eat long grass which in turn provides suitable short grass grazing for the Wildebeest and thus one of the reasons for the close association between the two species.
Zebra is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special hunting permits are required. Zebra may be hunted with a 10-day Tanzanian hunting license.
