Lesser kudu hunting in Ethiopia {{ totalToursString }}
The Lesser Kudu, a medium-sized antelope, is approximately half the size of its Greater Kudu counterpart. Males are characterized by their greyish-brown colouration, while females display a lighter reddish-fawn hue. Both sexes feature distinctive thin white stripes running vertically across their backs.
Lesser Kudu is an Ethiopian speciality and may only be hunted in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and, more recently, Uganda. Although not many Lesser Kudu are hunted, the majority are collected in the drier south eastern regions of Ethiopia.
Resembling smaller replicas of their greater cousins, male Lesser Kudu have spiral horns that typically grow to about 30 inches in length. These antelopes primarily browse at night, making them best hunted in the early morning or late afternoon. They are known for being shy and extremely alert.
Lesser Kudu are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN, with no special export permits required.
