More about us
Our company was established in 1982 and operates in 1 territory.
- We are a family run operation which has been in business since 1982. It was started by Peter Kalden at that time. His son, Alex, has been involved in the daily operations since the early 1990's and has taken over the operation in 2006. Our clients have come from all over the world, with the majority from the USA, Sweden and Germany.
- We have always prided ourselves on remaining a relatively small operation that pays attention to each individual hunter's needs. Over the years, many of our guests have become close friends, as is evidenced by our large number of return clientele. Our current guides have also been a part of the operation for over a decade.
About this hunt
During spring, our days are long, and the sun doesn't set until 10 PM in the later part of May. Your guide will pick you up near dark, which is usually about 1/2 hour after sunset. Once you return to the lodge, which can be as late as midnight, you will have a meal consisting of soup and sandwiches or other light fare. Mosquitoes are usually abundant in the later part of May and during the fall season. Any insect repellent with a relatively high concentration of Deet (20%+) will work and Thermacell units are great for the tree stand. Bear are more worried about constant movement by swatting mosquitoes than the scent given off by repellents.

How to get there
Location Directions for those travelling up I-29 from North Dakota: You'll cross into Canada at Pembina, ND on I-29. Continue on highway 75 up to Winnipeg, about 60 miles. Next, take Highway 100 West around Winnipeg for about 20 miles until you reach the turn off to highway 6. Turn here onto 6 and travel north. You'll cross a large bridge after about 150 miles over the Fairford River. Continue about 8 miles on Hwy 6 and you'll see a green sign which says "Davis Point Road". Turn left (west) here and continue on Davis Point Road for 6 miles until you reach a stop sign. Turn left (south) at the stop sign and take the 2nd driveway on the right (west) after about 1 mile. This is the driveway to the lodge, which is about 1 mile long. We are located directly on the shore of Lake Manitoba.
