Common blesbuck hunting in Namibia {{ totalToursString }}
Easily identifiable, this medium-sized antelope has a white blaze on its forehead and muzzle. This is known as a “Bles” in Afrikaans. Originally Blesbok were an endemic species to South Africa but have been successfully introduced to Namibia.
Trophy quality is pretty evenly matched throughout the country where they occur in isolated pockets on some farmland where introduced. Both sexes carry horns and males have thicker bases than females. They are water-dependent species so always found near water.
Blesbok does not jump a standard stock fence. This makes them a popular species with property owners who do not have high fences. Some of the colour variant Blesbok species have also been introduced to Namibia but due to limited numbers, their availability for trophy hunting is very limited.
Classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN, no special hunting permits are required.
