Blue wildebeest hunting in Namibia {{ totalToursString }}
Blue Wildebeest are an indigenous species to Namibia. Having horns shaped like those of a Cape Buffalo and sometimes as bad temperament when wounded, they are called a “Poor Man’s Buffalo”. Being more common and widely spread throughout Southern Africa also means they are priced much cheaper than a Buffalo.
Blue Wildebeest can be hunted from the semi-arid south-eastern regions of the country up to the subtropical Caprivi. This well-adapted species can be hunted as a free-range or ranched species within the country.
Blue Wildebeest can be a tough animal to take down with a badly placed shot and due to their size and affordability are also a popular meat hunted species making good biltong, a type of jerky. Blue Wildebeest (Brindled Gnu) are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special hunting permits are required.
